Texas Governor Rick Perry is trying to get the successful President of the University of Texas, Bill Powers, fired. Personal problems have marred their relationship since Powers was the Dean of UT's Law school.

Alongside releasing its controversial findings on fugitive methane emissions caused by fracking this week, University of Texas-Austin also unveiled an industry-stacked Steering Committee roster for the study it conducted in concert with Environmental Defense Fund. Only two out of the 11 members of the Steering Committee, besides lead author David Allen, have a science background relevant to onshore fracking.

Governor Rick Perry hasn't exactly had a smooth transition into his (yet to be announced) 2nd run for President. His initial announcement that he would not seek re-election was postponed due to the epic events surrounding Wendy Davis' filibuster in the Senate. Now, Wallace Hall, UT regent and Perry appointee, is one step closer to being impeached by the Texas legislature.
