Claire McCaskill's campaign released three ads today going after Todd Akins' "Legitimate Rape" comments very directly:

A mailing arrived today on behalf of Todd Akin (R-MO) from CitizenLink, an entity associated with the James Dobson founded right wingnut group Focus on the Family.

Mike Osskopp has a long history of rude and mean-spirited behavior. As Chief of Staff for Rep. John Kline he calls the police on any Democrats who come to Kline's office. He's infamous for standing outside a Democratic event and yelling about the attendees "jap" cars.
Generally, Kline is pretty rude to anybody who doesn't agree with him and Osskopp fits right in as his top staffer.
So when the Kurt Bills campaign veered from weirdness to weirdly and counterproductively mean-spirited I noted that Osskopp was now working for Bills.

Todd Akin spoke at locally organized open candidate forum in downtown Clinton, Missouri this evening. From his campaign it was advertised as one of the stops on his bus tour across the state.
It went as badly as you might imagine.

Now that Todd Akin (R-Mo.) has passed the deadline for withdrawal from the Missouri Senate Race, Senator Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) has released a new TV ad that mentions several of Akin's more controversial comments including the highly publicized comment that "legitimate rape" does not result in pregnancy. Some have speculated that Senator McCaskill's Campaign held back from highlighting Akin's rape comments in hopes of keeping him in the race after the Republican National Committee pulled their funding in the wake of negative national attention.
