Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced Thursday the names of 16 members of the Sandy Hook Advisory Commission. The expert panel will review current policy and make specific recommendations in the areas of public safety, with particular attention paid to school safety, mental health and gun violence prevention.

Colin Goddard, a student who was shot four times at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007, decided back in 2009 that something needed to be done to address the problem of easy access to assault weapons.
