Republicans Have Done Real ($24B) Damage to the Economy

Republicans Have Done Real ($24B) Damage to the Economy
Republicans believe that a bad economy works for them at election time. The thinking is that the public will turn on Democrats for not making things better. So they do what they can to make the economy bad. Maybe they went too far this time. This hostage-taking episode has done real, serious, lasting damage to the economy on top of the ongoing damage Republicans have been doing. Will the public still blame Democrats, or will they finally see what is going on here?

Republican Crazy Talk About the Debt Ceiling and How Obama Can Save the Economy

Republican Crazy Talk About the Debt Ceiling and How Obama Can Save the Economy
While the Treasury Department could prioritize interest payments after October 17 — the day the Treasury Department says it no longer has legal authority to pay the nation’s debts — and not pay Social Security and Medicare, this would buy a few days at most. GOP Discovers What Government Does, Promptly Convenes ‘Imperial Congress’

GOP Desperate to Defund Obamacare Now Because They Know its Popularity is About to Skyrocket
Why are the Tea Party Republicans so desperate to defund ObamaCare right now? Because they know that once it is fully implemented, it will be impossible to take away the many benefits of ObamaCare. It is one thing to prevent something good from being passed by Congress. It’s quite another to take something away from the voters.

A Michigan state appeals court has ruled that an anti-union right-to-work law applies equally to all state employees. The three-judge panel ruled 2-1 that the law superseded the Michigan Civil Service Commission, which had be tasked with setting compensation prior to the legislation.

How I Spent My GOP Mandated Summer Vacation

How I Spent My GOP Mandated Summer Vacation
A new Republican National Committee memo has hit the Internet and is drawing unwanted attention. The document acts as a step-by-step guide for GOP congressmen to pretend that they care about the issues affecting the demographics they are failing to reach. There is nothing surprising about this, though it is shocking to see such a thing in great detail.

Time of the Treason: Missouri Politics Provides Blueprint for Government Takeover
Over the weekend, Robert Reich called out the wealthiest 1% of Americans for their acts of "treason" on the American people with their bid to control the government. While every state has its shining examples of these efforts, perhaps none more than Missouri.
