Ahead of this afternoon's address from the Rose Garden, President Obama delivered a YouTube message to the American military assuring them that they would still be paid in light of the government shutdown. Naturally, he wasn't too keen on Congress when speaking to the troops.

Some incredible numbers, courtesy of The David Packman Show: If the US cut its military by 75 percent, it would still have the largest military in world. If the cut was 50 percent, the military would still be larger than the next three countries combined.
