In Thursday’s Wall Street Journal, Republican Sen. John Barrasso has an irate oped intended to rally the public against Democratic proposals to end filibuster abuse. But in his tirade he neglects to mention one important fact: the Democratic proposals still allow minority filibusters.

Comedy Central funnyman Jon Stewart has a talent for exposing the contradictions and hypocrisies that plague Capitol Hill and, on Monday night, he took aim at what he called, “The Men Who Stall On Votes.“

Sometimes the news media falls flat and doesn't do its due diligence.  They have reported that Scott Brown is a bi-partisan Senator. But a look at his first year, that is far from the case.
In an analysis by ProgressMass, they found between February 9th 2011 and August 18th 2011, when Warren finally filed her paper work to become a candidate Scott Brown was interlocked with the radicals in the tea party.

Nine-term Congressman Walter B. Jones, a North Carolina Republican, is again showing off his independent streak, and in a good cause.

Today, the Senate will hold a cloture vote on the DISCLOSE Act- 60 Senators must vote to proceed or the bill will die on the floor. The bill, requires that any organization spending $10,000 or more on elections disclose their donors who gave $10,000 or more. Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), the bill’s sponsor, warns that “the flood of secret money unleashed by the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision threatens to drown out the voices of middle class families in our democracy.”
