Sen Schumer Proposes $10M Legislation to Pay for Autistic Children's GPS Tracking Devices
The federal government would pay for GPS tracking devices for autistic children under legislation proposed Sunday by Sen. Chuck Schumer and named for a New York City boy who wandered away from his school three months ago and was found dead in a city river. "Avonte's Law," named for 14-year-old Avonte Oquendo, would provide $10 million to pay for the high-tech device that could be worn on the wrist, kept in a wallet or sewn into clothing.

Study Suggests Link Between Autism and Induced Labor
The biggest study of its kind suggests autism might be linked with inducing and speeding up labor, preliminary findings that need investigating since labor is induced in increasing numbers of U.S. women, the authors and other autism experts say. It's possible that labor-inducing drugs might increase the risk — or that the problems that lead doctors to start labor explain the results.
