Oh, I Wish a Clinton Would: Hillary 'Would Consider Supporting an Amendment' to Reverse Citizens United

As part of her book tour, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton answered questions on Facebook during which she suggested she opposes the controversial Citizens United decision that injected unprecedented money into politics.

Even with a 2016 winner’s support, the movement to re-amend the constitution and reverse Citizens United would be an uphill battle. Still, the answer is refreshing and encouraging. When asked about the law during the Facebook Q&A, Clinton said:

“I would consider supporting an amendment among these lines that would prevent the abuse of our political system by excessive amounts of money if there is no other way to deal with the Citizen’s United decision.”

Clinton answered questions ranging from her favorite books to her thoughts on the Middle East and Ukraine, but made sure to lay out some broad goals regarding domestic policy:

“Answering hypothetically … the next president should work to grow the economy, increase upward mobility, and decrease inequality,”

Clinton said that she will announce her intentions for 2016 by the end of this year.
