Mitt Romney and Rush Limbaugh's Views on Healthcare Fueled By Ignorance, Greed or Both

Who knows if it is idiocy or just uncaring greed. Whatever the reason, Republicans live in a fantasy world when it comes to the plight of Americans without health insurance. In a never-ending quest to repeal the healthcare law we did get Republicans will say anything. Yes, from their former "leader" to their new one it appears as if either ignorance, propoganda or just plain greed fuels their knowledge of just why healthcare costs were so high to begin with.
I seem to remember that the millions of Americans without health insurance were a huge problem. Hell, they still are. Folks who worked the service type jobs left after Republicans outsourced everything else do not have employer provided health insurance. Then of course there are folks like me with pre-existing conditions, many like mine type 1 Diabetes through no fault of their own.

And for so long when these folks got sick what did they have to do? Go to an Emergency Room and wait forever for the highest priced care possible. And what did that do? It drove healthcare costs up for all Americans when these folks could not afford to pay the bills. Yes, even if you think you have healthcare insurance and should not care about folks like me, it was costing you anyway.

But that is the way Republican leaders wanted it. They were either invested in or taking money from the only folks who profited from this huge mess, health insurance companies. That is why Republican leaders seem so ignorant about this subject. If it profits them, they simply do not care what happens to the rest of us.

And so you get ignorant statements from folks like the former leader of the Republican Party, the Oxymoron Rush Limbaugh:

Disclaimer: Here at Hillbilly Report we do not condone the use of the Hillbilly Heroin. It makes you into Rush Limbaugh.

Indeed, Rush sees nobody dying from not having insurance. Of course folks like him sit in their ivory towers with their sorry asses covered no matter what. The only way they care about Americans is figuring out how to propogandize them with ignorance to vote against their own interests and those of their families. Sadly, they have been hugely successful.

So who better to take up the Oxycontin dulled viewpoint of the Oxymoron than the new "leader" of the Republicans, Mitt Romney? I mean this man has already shown he has no problems standing in front of tens of millions of people and lying through his teeth to them. He has shown that nothing is sacred to him except his own quest for power, power he would use to absolve folks like himself from any responsibility to the country that made their wealth possible all the  while further decimating the millions of folks that did the real work for his profits.

His solution to the problem of the uninsured allows only one thing. The very thing that caused the problem to begin with. He wants you to go to the Emergency Room, driving up costs for everyone else and profits for a very few. Indeed this man is so out of touch with the problems working Americans face it is embarrassing:

"We don't have a setting across this country where if you don't have insurance, we just say to you, 'Tough luck, you're going to die when you have your heart attack,'  " he said as he offered more hints as to what he would put in place of "Obamacare," which he has pledged to repeal.

"No, you go to the hospital, you get treated, you get care, and it's paid for, either by charity, the government or by the hospital. We don't have people that become ill, who die in their apartment because they don't have insurance."

He pointed out that federal law requires hospitals to treat those without health insurance - although hospital officials frequently say that drives up health-care costs.

Does this guy really think that your hospital bills get paid for by charity, the government or the hospital?? How many folks have gone to the Emergency Room and had someone tell them, "Well hell, you were sick we will just forgive that debt"?? No, as in my case when I came down with Type 1 Diabetes it took years of monthly payments before I paid it off.

And those who unlike me did not manage to pay these bills off? Their care drives up costs for everyone else with or without insurance and of course as always a very few people manage to suck some profit out of it like a vampire.

Even more embarrassing is that Mitt Romney has actually convinced himself that nobody dies because of a lack of health insurance. As always with Republican propoganda, the truth is a much different animal:

Nearly 45,000 people die in the United States each year -- one every 12 minutes -- in large part because they lack health insurance and can not get good care, Harvard Medical School researchers found in an analysis released on Thursday.

"We're losing more Americans every day because of inaction ... than drunk driving and homicide combined," Dr. David Himmelstein, a co-author of the study and an associate professor of medicine at Harvard, said in an interview with Reuters.

Overall, researchers said American adults age 64 and younger who lack health insurance have a 40 percent higher risk of death than those who have coverage.

But you see, just like the "47%" these 45,000 are nothing to Mitt Romney. He is not running to be their President or represent them because he considers them leeches and burdens upon folks like him. The real truth is that folks like Mitt Romney and Rush Limbaugh are the real leeches. They have slopped at the government trough and created more poverty and ignorance than anyone.

Because the simple truth is they do not care about any of us. They would destroy our country and it's economy and every worker within if it meant one extra penney in their pockets.

What is really astounding is that with all the greed and ignorance shown by the Romney campaign and the Republicans in general that anyone outside of the 1% of Americans that they really represent would vote for them.

So while Mitt Romney is entitled to his selfish opinions he is not entitled to his own facts. He will lie through his teeth to convince folks he is something he is not, reasonable. The fact is that the healthcare situation in this country is one thing that should not be driven by profit. But of course as long as their are men like Mitt Romney in this country some folks will always consider profit more important than people.

The only thing we can do is fight them for every neighborhood in our county and show them they are no better than anyone of us.
