Many senior citizen are enjoying pensions from defined pension plans, that their children no long have, Medicare and Social Security and that's great, but when it comes to their children and grand children they seem willing to settle for something less.

A new Gallup/USA Today poll contains a counterintuitive finding: the age group most receptive to House Budget Chair Paul Ryan's plan to deal with the budget - seniors.

The poll finds 48 percent of seniors (those 65 and over) support Ryan's plan over President Obama's plan, while 42 percent back the president.

It's unbelievable that 48 percent of seniors would support dismantling Medicare and throw their children under the Paul Ryan corporate bus. Could it be they, senior citizens, don't understand what Paul Ryan have in store for their children and grand children or could it be they don't give a $hit about their children and grand children?

Many senior citizens (48 percent) seem to be happy that the Paul Ryan plan will not to affect them but only people 55 and under and It doesn't seem to matter, to them, that the people 55 and under are their children.

Ryan's plan would provide a federal subsidy to people now 55 and younger to opt out of Medicare and purchase private insurance instead. Critics have dubbed this a voucher program.

I suggest that if a senior citizen votes for Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan they, the senior citizens, will be voting against their children and grand children and that's sad.

As a senior citizen myself, I believe we should fight to improve Medicare, fight for defined pension plans and stand up to corporate interest that play younger generations against older generations and vice versa.

In closing: I'm embarrassed to be part of a generation that thinks it's better than those that came before us and/or those that will come after it. A generation that is too lazy or too indifferent to search out the facts and fight for a better future for our children and grand children. Yes America is in the shape it's in because of my generation's lack of intestinal fortitude and the guts to stand up to authority.

In 2012 my generation will have chance to stand up for their children and grand children. I know where I stand How about you?

In 2005 the HSUS was registered as a “Lobbying Organization” and it listed Wayne Pacelle as one of its “Lobbyists.” However, the HSUS apparently terminated its Registration at a later date. In contrast, the Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF) which oversees three PACs, and which was founded by Mr. Pacelle in 2004, had never registered itself as a “Lobbying Organization” - - UNTIL FEBRAURY 29, 2012! That is when the HSLF and the Senior Leadership of the HSUS “BLINKED,” and they registered the HSLF as a “Lobbying Organization” - - a DELIQUENCY OF OVER 7 YEARS!! Most significantly, when the HSLF filed its Registration with the Secretary of the Senate, it listed Mrs. Constance Harriman-Whitfield as one of its “Lobbyists.” This further “taints” the HSUS for its failure to no longer be registered as a “Lobbying Organization” because Mrs. Harriman-Whitfield, according to her BIO that was posted on the HSUS Website, is a Paid Employee of the HSUS, and she serves as the “Senior Advisor” for “HSUS President and CEO Wayne Pacelle.” Thus, the recent HSLF Registration substantiates that the HSUS, which is no longer registered, is in violation of the Lobbying Disclosure Act. In this regard, Mr. Pacelle was previously listed, BY NAME, as a Lobbyist for the HSUS in 2005, and now his Senior Advisor, who is on the payroll of the HSUS, has been identified as a “Lobbyist.”

The politicians love to complain about people on welfare. Is it possible they forgot that our Supreme Court Ruled corporations are people? Hell no they didn't forget, but they'll turn a blind eye to corporate welfare that will cost us about $100 billon this year.

"If I’m president, I’ll put work back in welfare,” Romney said, campaigning in this suburb just outside Obama’s hometown of Chicago. He added, “We will end the culture of dependency and restore a culture of good hard work.”

Is it possible that Mitt Romney doesn't know the American people are shelling out about $100 billion a year to corporations (corporate welfare)? The corporate culture of dependency is sickening and needs to be called what it is. Welfare for the rich, but if you're waiting for Mitt Romney to call out the corporate slackers, don't hold your breath because that ain't gonna happen.

This is going to be interesting. Big spender, $1,535,993,325 Billion with a "B" in earmarks, Senator Mitch McConnell speaking at a Tea Party rally, in Frankfort, Kentucky August 21, 2012.

According to Bluegrass Politics the Lexington Tea Party and the Northern Kentucky Tea Party will be co-sponsoring the event with the Louisville Tea Party and we all know these Tea Party folks are against big government spending. We'll see about that when when Senator Mitch McConnell steps to the podium to speak. If the Tea Party folks, at the event, embrace big spender Senator Mitch McConnell, I believe it will be reasonable to conclude, that the Tea Party folks are nothing but Mitch McConnell puppets willing to dance to the Senator's tune. 

However if the Tea Party folks boo Senator Mitch McConnell off of the stage, I believe it will be reasonable to conclude, that the Tea Party folks are serious about big spending politicians, including Senator Mitch McConnell.

So which will it be? Will the Tea Party folks boo (big spender) Senator Mitch McConnell off of the stage or will they embrace him as one of their own?

Oh my Harry Reid has an extremely credible source that's telling him Mitt Romney has not paid taxes for ten years. I wonder who that extremely credible source might be? John McCain?

When it comes to the politicians in Washington, DC. it's almost impossible to tell who is lying and who is telling the truth, but this could all be cleared up if Mitt Romney would just release 12 years of his tax returns. If Mitt Romney has nothing to hide he shouldn't have a problem doing that.

Harry Reid is standing by his claim that he was told by an extremely credible source that Romney has not paid taxes for ten years and released the following statement yesterday:

“There is a controversy because the Republican presidential nominee, Governor Mitt Romney, refuses to release his tax returns. As I said before, I was told by an extremely credible source that Romney has not paid taxes for ten years. People who make as much money as Mitt Romney have many tricks at their disposal to avoid paying taxes. We already know that Romney has exploited many of these loopholes, stashing his money in secret, overseas accounts in places like Switzerland and the Cayman Islands.

“Last weekend, Governor Romney promised that he would check his tax returns and let the American people know whether he ever paid a rate lower than 13.9 percent. One day later, his campaign raced to say he had no intention of putting out any further information.

“When it comes to answering the legitimate questions the American people have about whether he avoided paying his fair share in taxes or why he opened a Swiss bank account, Romney has shut up. But as a presidential candidate, it’s his obligation to put up, and release several years’ worth of tax returns just like nominees of both parties have done for decades.

“It’s clear Romney is hiding something, and the American people deserve to know what it is. Whatever Romney’s hiding probably speaks volumes about how he would approach issues that directly impact middle-class families, like tax reform and the economy. When you are running for president, you should be an open book.

“I understand Romney is concerned that many people, Democrats and Republicans, have been calling on him to release his tax returns. He has so far refused. There is only one thing he can do to clear this up, and that’s release his tax returns.”

The right-wing is having a field day with Harry Reid's extremely credible source. Red State has this little piece " Harry Reid is a pedophile." and rush Limbaugh has this piece in response to Harry Reid's extremely credible source "Obama Got Worst Grades in Harvard History -- and It's Up to Him to Prove He Didn't." Also the right-wing Twitter hash tags #HarryReidFacts, #HarryReidsCredibleSource and #HeardAboutHarry are giving Harry Hell and overlooking Mitt Romney's refusal to release his tax returns.

July, 26 2012 when Mitt Romney was asked if he ever paid a lower tax rate than the 13.9% from 2010, Mitt Romney had this to say:

“I haven’t calculated that,” Romney told ABC’s David Muir. “I’m happy to go back and look, but my view is I’ve paid all the taxes required by law. From time to time I’ve been audited as happens I think to other citizens as well and the accounting firm which prepares my taxes has done a very thorough and complete job pay taxes as legally due.”

But ABC says Romney officials have not gotten back to them on whether Romney ever paid a lower tax rate than 13.9% despite their repeated queries. Instead, they received a rehash of Romney’s already disclosed taxes and charitable donations from 2010, suggesting that Romney may have over promised in his interview what his campaign was willing to reveal. Mitt Romney misled ABC’s David Muir and he may have told him an outright lie and if Mitt Romney will mislead ABC’s David Muir he, Mitt Romney, is capable of misleading the American people.

If Harry Reid's claim to have an extremely credible source is true, Mitt Romney has more enemies than he knew about. But it could be that one of Romney's pals set Harry Reid up. Who knows, but one thing is for sure. Mitt Romney hasn't released any more tax returns and as long as he doesn't people will be suspicious and rightly so.

Less than 100,000 people, .001% of the worlds population, now control over 30 percent of the worlds financial wealth and they're putting $21 trillion to $32 trillion in global offshore tax havens to avoid paying taxes.

Since 1984, the year Ronald Reagan was elected president, America's top 1%'s share of America's total income has nearly doubled from 8.89% in 1984 to 17.42% in 2010. It appears trickle down economics worked well for the very rich, but it seems that's not enough for them. They don't want to pay taxes on their new found (trickle down) wealth so they put their dough in global offshore tax havens. .001% patriotism at work!
