Last night, I attended an OFA GOTV training. It wasn't my first, but it will be my last. You’d think a public official whose job is to supervise free and fair elections would be focused on ensuring that every eligible voter has a meaningful chance to vote and that every vote is counted as cast. Sadly, in Ohio, you’d be wrong.
Jon Husted, Ohio’s secretary of state, is making it his business to gum up the machinery of democracy in the Buckeye state. He’s been fighting for months to limit access to early voting, which helps tens of thousands of Ohioans with disabilities, or jobs that keep them busy during normal voting hours, participate in elections.

A national polling firm, PPP polling, Public Policy Polling, just tweeted a subject line from an email by Rasmussen, a "credible" national pollster.
"Obama Movie Could Spell Disaster for His Campaign - Get DVD Now"
The Obama movie, called 2016: Obama's America was created by Dinesh D'Souza, a conservative activist in which he tries to frame Obama in a "radical" light. The movie has had multiple holes blown through by fact checkers, etc.

Sometimes the news media falls flat and doesn't do its due diligence.  They have reported that Scott Brown is a bi-partisan Senator. But a look at his first year, that is far from the case.
In an analysis by ProgressMass, they found between February 9th 2011 and August 18th 2011, when Warren finally filed her paper work to become a candidate Scott Brown was interlocked with the radicals in the tea party.

In an interview today with the Des Moines Register editorial board, Mitt Romney said that, “there’s no legislation with regards to abortion that I’m familiar with that would become part of my agenda.”
But that statement contradicts his pledge to appoint Supreme Court justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade. And within just a couple hours of the story with Romney’s abortion comments posting, his spokesperson clarified that he would in fact support legislation to restrict a woman’s right to choose.

During an interview Terry Camp, a reporter for Flint, Michigan's WJRT ABC News 12, began to challenge Paul Ryan on his views and how to pay for them.  Ryan responded like any tough politician who's preparing for a debate would, he ended the interview abruptly and chastised the reporter.

The anti-immigrant group NumbersUSA, which seeks to limit legal immigration, has put out a new, racist ad that tries to pit African Americans against immigrants. It features an African American man with his family explaining that he needs a job.

Driving down I-94 over the weekend, I saw an odd new billboard. The billboard says VOTE YES and features a small image of a woman holding a flag and hugging a man in military fatigues. There's absolutely no indication of what the man and woman have to do with voter restriction. To me, they just seemed like random patriotic imagery.
