The following is from a press release, that I got from Malinda Frevert at the Credo Duluth office. (Her blog is here. And you can check out the "Take Down Cravaack" FB page, here.)
Women Against Cravaack, a group of local women who are upset with Rep. Cravaack's anti-woman record in Congress, will march to his office this Wednesday at 12:15 pm. After their march, Women Against Cravaack will hold a press conference where they will demand Cravaack be held accountable for his atrocious record on women's issues.
Cravaack has voted to defund Planned Parenthood, to redefine rape, and most recently blocked the real Violence Against Women Act, in favor of a bill that actually rolls back protections for millions of domestic violence victims. Dana Rossing, a domestic abuse survivor and women's rights advocate, will speak about her frustration with Rep. Cravaack and his reckless disregard for victims of domestic violence...
The march will start at 212 W Superior St, Duluth and will end on the steps outside Congressman Cravaack's office at 515 W 1st St.
I haven't checked out every last procedural vote that Chippy has cast in the House since he's been there - the effort/reward ratio, for such an undertaking, certainly doesn't cut it - so I can't say with authority that he would literally rate an absolute zero on women's rights, health, and opportunities. But that he's been, in practical terms, about as bad as it gets, cannot be seriously questioned. There's no reason for any thinking person in MN-08 to even consider voting to reelect him.
