John Wisniewski will be outside near the Romney fundraiser tonight for GOP big-spenders. He'll be talking education, and I wouldn't be surprised if the name Chris Christie came up. If you want to go talk to the Democratic State Chair, go - and it won't cost you what they'll be ponying up inside to see the Mitt and Chris Show. Details below.
Chris Christie is coy with the media about whether he covets the the VP slot on the Romney ticket. But a glance at his out-of-state travel schedule says what he dances around. This guy has been sacrificing sensible policy and a responsible work schedule at the job he already has, to show off for stingy national Republicans and Romney himself, in the long audition for veep.
But today, Romney comes to New Jersey, to Woodbridge, where he'll share a stage at Woodbridge Renaissance with Christie on Christie's home turf. That's a big-ticket event, going by your lonesome will set you back $2,500; couples are $10,000 for the photo reception and $50,000 for dinner.
But Romney won't be the only one in Woodbridge tonight. Democratic state chair Assemblyman John Wisniewski will be outside near the event to talk about Mitt Romney and Chris Christie's shared education agenda. He'll be joined by Brian Geoffroy of the Woodbridge Education Association.
Wisniewski's appearance there is an info event and a chance to talk education. It's low-key and there isn't any interaction with the Romney event planned. But if you're nearby and want to show a friendly face, by all means go. Here's the when & where:
What: Press Conference Discussing Romney-Christie Education Agenda prior to the Romney fundraiser at the Woodbridge Renaissance
When: Today at 4:30 PM EDT
Where: Corner of Gill Lane and RT 1 South in Woodbridge (the lot adjacent to the Woodbridge Renaissance)
Who: Assemblyman John Wisniewski, Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, and Brian Geoffroy, President of the Woodbridge Education Association
And speaking of info, NJDSC sent out a snarky and pretty accurate infographic of what Christie should answer - if he's honest - as he's vetted by Team Romney for VP. You can catch that after the jump.
