File this under Friday fun facts:
Nearly two-thirds of Americans (65%) think Barack Obama would be better suited than Mitt Romney to handle an alien invasion.
Which, when you think about it, is a pretty big vote of confidence in Obama's ability to find innovative solutions to big, unexpected problems. And you know, that's the core of the job description for president of the USA.
I wonder if Americans' confidence that Obama could successfully cope with aliens has something to do with his record of dealing with Congress the past four years. He's always maintained a calm sense of purpose -- even when the partisan bickering must have rankled -- and through patience & persistence, has managed to get a remarkable amount of what he wanted.
And, given that any invading aliens are likely to be from a more advanced society, I'll wager coping with aliens would be a pleasant change from dealing with Congress.
