REPORT: Louisiana Regulators Taking Two-Thirds of Campaign Cash from Industries They Regulate
An investigation into public campaign finance records by the New Orleans Times-Picayune found that Louisiana utility regulators have been receiving two-thirds of their campaign cash from the industries they are elected to regulate. Despite the obvious possibility of corruption, Louisiana has resisted all calls to ban campaign contributions from utility companies.

Collapsed Salt Mine Causing Massive Sinkhole in Louisiana, Residents Evacuated
New video filmed in Bayou Corne, Louisiana by the Assumption Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) shows the latest "slough in" at an ongoing sinkhole sucking in whole trees. The toxic sinkhole was discovered by a resident on August 3rd, 2012. It was three acres then, but it's grown to over 24 acres since. According to OEP Director John Boudreaux, "The sinkhole continues to be active and grow."

Crazy Right Wingers Want Their States to Secede

Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Tennessee, Oregon, Kentucky, Montana, Arkansas, North Dakota, Mississippi, New York. North Carolina, Missouri, Oregon, Georgia, New Jersey, Colorado, South Carolina, and Florida. Those are the states whom, so far, have had someone file a "We the People" petition to secede from the United States of America in response to Obama winning the 2012 Presidential election. Texas is the only one to reach the 28,000 signatures needed to warrant a response from the Obama administration and Governor Rick Perry has weighed in.
