Koch Zero: Environmental Groups on Offensive After Big Oil's Defeat of Wind Production Tax Credit
The Sierra Club has announced that they are launching an ad campaign in hopes of garnering public support for an extension of the Wind Production Tax Credit. The successful credit program expired after it fell into the crosshairs of the Koch brothers, who vowed to make the tax credit “so toxic that it makes it impossible for John Boehner to sit at a table with Harry Reid and say, ‘Yeah, I can bend on this one.”

Why Does Obummer Have to Ruin Everything? Boehner Blames Prez for Cantor Upset

Why Does Obummer Have to Ruin Everything? Boehner Blames Prez for Cantor Upset
The primary race House Majority Leader Eric Cantor lost to Tea Party upstart David Brat has absolutely nothing to do with Obama (could be immigration, could be that everyone just despised Cantor, but definitely NOT Obama). Try telling that to John Boehner.

Amnesty Shamnesty: Republican Party Still Battling Itself Over Immigration

Amnesty Shamnesty: Republican Party Still Battling Itself Over Immigration
Republicans must do something about immigration reform now or they will find themselves speeding into another presidential election year wrestling with the same “Latino problem” that destroyed any chance for a Republican victory in the last election. But will the Tea Party fringe of the GOP let anything happen?

Parties Compromise on $1.1 Trillion Budget, Avoid Shutdown in Election Year

Parties Compromise on $1.1 Trillion Budget, Avoid Shutdown in Election Year
A massive $1.1 trillion spending bill to fund the government through October and finally put to rest the bitter budget battles of last year is getting generally positive reviews from House Republicans eager to avoid another shutdown crisis with elections looming in 10 months. Veteran Republicans said the generally positive response to the all-encompassing spending bill reflected the desire of the rank and file to avoid a repeat of the politically damaging budget standoffs with the White House that led to last year's 16-day partial government shutdown

House Republicans Signal Support for Budget, No Extension for Unemployment Benefits
House Republicans signaled support Wednesday for a budget deal worked out a day earlier, a plan narrowly drawn but promoted as a way to stabilize Congress' erratic fiscal efforts, avert another government shutdown and mute some of the partisan rancor that has damaged Americans' attitudes about their lawmakers.

GOP Discovers What Government Does, Promptly Convenes ‘Imperial Congress’

GOP Discovers What Government Does, Promptly Convenes ‘Imperial Congress’
An insight seemed to strike Hill Republicans last week, if only briefly: Our government is made up of people helping other people. But don’t count on seeing a new era of conciliation or a new embrace of democratic processes. Instead, Republicans seemed to renew their commitment to the principle that only one branch of government — their branch – should control it. Call it the Imperial Congress.

Senate Dems Craft Debt Limit Hike as China Urges US Government to Get It Together

Senate Dems Craft Debt Limit Hike as China Urges US Government to Get It Together
Senate Democrats are drafting legislation to raise the nation's debt limit without the type of unrelated conditions that Republicans have said they intend to demand, officials said Monday, as the White House signaled it would accept even a brief extension in borrowing authority to prevent an unprecedented default. Republicans have said they will seek long-term deficit cuts or reforms to benefit programs and perhaps a wholesale rollback in environmental rules as the price for raising the current $16.7 trillion debt limit.

Republicans Died and Went to Hoeven. Corker-Hoeven.
The Corker-Hoeven amendment completely undermines the basic need for immigration reform by allowing the number of largely unaccountable border security agents to double and by building an additional 700 miles of double-layered border fence at a cost of $50 billion. And Democrats just let it happen.
