CDC: LGB Population Suffers from Intimate Violence, Stalking
The majority of women who reported experiencing sexual violence, regardless of their sexual orientation, reported that they were victimized by male perpetrators. Nearly half of female bisexual victims (48.2 percent) and more than one-quarter of female heterosexual victims (28.3 percent) experienced their first rape between the ages of 11 and 17 years.

More Americans Agree with Same-Sex Marriage Than Gay Boy Scout Leaders

While 53 percent of Americans support legalizing same-sex marriage, less than half of Americans support the idea of openly gay adults serving as Boy Scout leaders. Given the lack of a trend on this question, it is not clear whether support is higher than in the past, or the degree to which the lack of support may reflect respondents' reluctance to say how a private organization should decide who holds its positions of leadership.

Army General Faces Court-Martial for Multiple Crimes with Women While On Base

The five pages of allegations involved Sinclair's conduct with five women who were not his wife. A 27-year Army veteran who served five combat tours, Sinclair is charged with eight crimes, including one count of forcible sodomy; two counts of wrongful sexual conduct; six counts of inappropriate sexual relationships, and eight counts of violating regulations. The charges involve activities when he was in Afghanistan, Iraq, Germany, and at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and they include violating what's known as General Order No. 1 — possessing alcohol in a war zone.

Ban on US Servicewomen Abortion Coverage Lifted

The Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services unanimously voted Tuesday to support an amendment allowing the military's health plan to cover abortions in cases of rape or incest. More than 70,000 emails were sent to Members of Congress asking them to end the ban on abortion coverage for servicewomen and military dependents who had experienced rape or incest.

Corrected Death Certificate Issued to Iowa Same-Sex Parents

Under Iowa law, vital records including death certificates reflect legal parentage, and both spouses are parents to any child born during a marriage regardless of whether they have a biological relationship to the child. In March 2012, the Iowa Attorney General’s office filed court documents saying that the state will continue to refuse an accurate death certificate to Jenny and Jessica Buntemeyer, asserting that it was correct in erasing Jenny’s name.
