At least 1,200 protesters marched and rode wheelchairs down Congress Avenue to the south steps of the Texas Capitol on Tuesday to demand that lawmakers expand Medicaid by accepting federal funds. These funds from the Affordable Care Act are estimated to cover an additional 1.5 million Texans.
