Senator Lamar Alexander: OMG LOL WTF NLRB

Senator Lamar Alexander: OMG LOL WTF NLRB
A plan proposed by Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander to change the makeup of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) would “effectively cripple the agency” according to its opponents. Alexander, a champion of anti-union, right-wing extremism, is suggesting the board add a sixth member and have three members from each party. This, he comically insists, would “require both sides to find a middle ground.” Unfortunately, given the gridlock in Washington, such a plan would produce a perpetual stalemate.

WI Education Unions Lose Certification with Non-Votes Counted as 'No' Votes Under Act 10
To finish out 2013, eight Wisconsin education unions lost their ability to collectively bargain when, seeking recertification, non-votes were counted as “no” votes under the governor’s hallmark anti-union legislation, also known as Act 10. This is despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of those that did vote were in support of each union's rights.
