With Pot Legalized, Colorado Enters Drug-Policy Brave New World

America’s war on drugs got a lot more interesting Tuesday night when Colorado and Washington voted to legalize marijuana. Legalization advocates were quick to call the two measures “the beginning of the end” of marijuana prohibition in the United States.
“The beginning of the end has begun,” Allen St. Pierre, executive director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), wrote at his blog.

CO Marijuana Decriminalization Ad Features Denver Police Hero

A strong new TV ad airing statewide in support of Amendment 64 features a highly decorated former Denver Police Lieutenant explaining why his 36 years of experience on the force led him to believe that "regulating marijuana like alcohol means safer communities."
In the ad, DPD Medal of Honor and Purple Heart recipient Tony Ryan says:
There's plenty to do without having to spend all your time going around and looking for a marijuana bust. It's a matter of setting your priorities.
