Latest development in the 3rd District: There are three times as many undecided Democratic voters in that district as there are who plan to vote for Trevor Thomas.
In a survey of likely primary voters, Pestka, a former judge and state lawmaker, runs away with the election by a 39-15 margin over Thomas, who was part of Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s administration and is a former broadcaster.
...snip...
The poll showed 46 percent of voters remain undecided, a figure Coon attributes at least in part to the addition of Calhoun County of the district. In addition to Kent County, the Congressional lines also include Ionia, Barry and part of Montcalm counties.
Probably. However, Pestka has gotten the backing of state Rep. Kate Segal and Mark Schauer. Schauer's name probably carries some heft in Calhoun, while Segal is running for re-election. That means, at least in theory, that her re-election team is going to offer some assistance on the ground building name ID there.
