As Becky Dernbach was reading her new book, "Fannie and Freddy." at the bookapos;s release party, Freddie Mac pushed ahead with sales of two disputed homes. The book is written in rhyme like a childrenapos;s book but it deals with the serious issue of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pushing questionable home foreclosures and sales. The book release party at Boneshaker Books, 2002 23rd Ave. S., Minneapolis, Minnesota, packed in a crowd of OccupyHomesMn supporters and five of the ten people who assisted with the bookapos;s production. The book project was completed in two months! Dernbach wrote fast, the illustrators worked long hours, Their using few background illustrations and then moving characters around on various cropping of the background, as in movie animation, facilitated the fast production. Jillia Pessenda Bovino, choreographer, explained how she placed the characters and other props on the background for a pleasing meaningful presentation. Connie Gretsch said she had been working on a book for five years, and stopped to pitch in on this one. Gretsch created the background illustration, Homeville, the imaginary city affected by Frannie and Freddie. Story about her foreclosure issues. Eva Rose Cohen created Fannie, Freddie and Maggie McWhite characters with movable arms and using the primary colors, blue, red and yellow. Maggie is a nurse so she wore hospital scrubs, yellow ones, with a stethoscope around her neck. Cat Salonek created some of the minor pieces including a magnifying glass so Fannie could read the fine print in the documents she created.
