Judy Baker (D): Missouri is a great state with great people and a bright future. But we've gotta get serious about the real challenges that face our state.
This means the time for petty political games is over. We have to find better ways to create jobs and strengthen our schools, help seniors get the services they need to stay healthier and independent longer, and to help our veterans as they transition back to our communities as we welcome them home.
From my earliest childhood to my days in seminary to when I was serving you in Jefferson City I have always seen public service as a mission, a chance to serve a higher call. I learned this from my parents. My dad was a career Navy doctor and my mother a public school teacher.
So if I get the chance to be your lieutenant governor I will stay focused on the things that really matter, the things that will make a difference, by taking on the real challenges that face Missouri families.
