On Monday morning's Fox and Friends, host Steve Doocy spoke with guest Joshua Boston, whose open letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) expressing his opposition to her proposed ban on assault weapons has gone virial on right-wing Web sites. Doocy was able to get the former Marine to play along with his straw-man argument that the government is coming after our guns.
"It’s something we’ve seen happen time and time again in history, with Stalin," said Boston. "It happened in Cambodia. Then of course the Third Reich. No one saw that coming until it was too late."
Doocy also had Boston read a part of his letter to Feinstein on air. Boston wrote:
“I am not your subject. I’m the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I’m the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I’m the flesh and blood of America. I’m the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American.”
According to Think Progress, Fox News played portions of the interview at least three times during its Monday broadcast.
