MEMORANDUM

To: Friends of Chris Murphy

From: Gotham Research Group

Subject: May 2012 Survey of Likely Democratic Primary Voters

Date: June 4, 2012

Introduction

The findings described in this memo are based on a survey conducted May 20-25, 2012 among a representative sample of 600 Democratic registered voters likely to vote in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate in Connecticut on August 14th, 2012.  The margin of error on the total sample of 600 is +/- 4.0%.  The study was conducted by telephone using live interviewers.  All the numbers below are presented as percentages and, due to rounding, may not add up to 100%.

Please note that all 600 survey respondents were randomly selected from a list of Democratic registered voters and screened using a series of questions to ensure that they are likely to vote in the August 14th Democratic primary.  Note that extensive screening was necessary because a substantial portion of eligible Democratic registered voters do not end up voting in Democratic primary elections in Connecticut.
